At the "Senior Management & Marketing & Sales FamiCord Group" meeting in Kraków this September, the first-ever JAN award from FamiCord Group was handed out. The inaugural winner? Biogenis from Romania! Their impressive contributions in the FamiCord Group have truly set them apart.

"Introducing the prestigious *JAN Award*, named in honor of the first child to receive a life-saving cord blood transplant stored in the FamiCord & Vita34 Group laboratories. This award will be presented annually at the Senior Management meeting in September, recognizing achievements across multiple categories. With this award, we highlight our ultimate goal: saving lives. Every step we take, every innovation we pursue, brings us closer to giving hope to patients and families worldwide. Together, we strive to make a difference where it matters most – in the fight for life."

Biogenis from Romania won the inaugural JAN award by not only meeting their ambitious budget but also implementing innovative group projects. As Bogdan Bulumac, the GM, stated, “This recognition isn’t just for me but for the entire team, from representatives to those working in administration and finance.” It’s their collective effort and commitment that enabled Biogenis to achieve such significant results.

The JAN Award will be presented annually during group meetings held September, recognizing achievements presented a unique timeframe of 12 months constituting of : the second half of past year and first half of  current year. So 2025 JAN Award time frame – already started !  

Categories for the award include Best Performing Company, Best Employee or Manager, and Best Initiative. GM’s can nominate candidates for the award, while the Group Management Board will determine the winners. "We don't want the criteria for awarding the prizes to be solely based on achieving a specific revenue target," states Tomasz Baran, VP of FamiCord Group. "We want to emphasize that for the other two categories, innovation and employees involvement will also be taken into account," he adds.

The deadline for submitting candidate nominations will be announced during the Senior Management meeting at the beginning of 2025.
